About Us

Ronnie Screwvala is a first-generation entrepreneur who started his journey by introducing India to multi-channel TV viewing, by launching the first cable TV network in the country. From there, he went on to build a Media and Entertainment conglomerate – UTV – spanning Television, Motion Pictures, Broadcasting, Games, and Digital. In 2012 Disney acquired UTV.

The next leg of the journey is what Ronnie is most excited about – SPORT, where he would be the inspirer, entrepreneur, and mobilizer. He believes that sport empowers and inspires the youth like nothing else ever does.

In his second Innings, Ronnie is focused, through Unilazer Ventures to work with first gen entrepreneurs by investing in their companies in high growth and Impact sectors. Ronnie is also focused on Social Welfare and is the Founder trustee of The Swades Foundation. The Swades Foundation operates with the single-minded focus of empowering Rural India. Swades’s goal is to empower One Million lives every 5-6 years and lift them out of Poverty permanently, creating rural communities that are a strong asset to 21st Century India. They hope to create a model that others can follow, in India and the World. After Ronnie divested his stake in UTV to the Walt Disney Company, he decided to commit substantial of his resources to make this dream a reality. Ronnie and Zarina both devote tremendous time and energy on Swades and Zarina has chosen to work on it full time.

Hailing from 3 generations of sports, Suhail brings over a decade of experience in the world of sports and entertainment, both in India and overseas. From being a professional Cricketer to one of India’s leading faces and voices of Sport, Chandhok comes in as a successful sports entrepreneur and a leading figure in the evolution of Kabaddi over the last decade, with deep commitment to the development of youth talent across the country.

The 35 year old, who has been involved in sporting entities such as the IPL, PKL, Indian Super League, Premier Badminton League, Hockey India League and the exciting Yuva Kabaddi Series amongst others, will take on responsibilities with immediate effect as the team look to build on the successes of the last 9 seasons with the ethos of unearthing some of the best young talent the Pro Kabaddi League has seen.

Chetan Juthani has served as our Chief Financial Officer since 2012 in Unilazer Group.
Mr. Juthani is a certified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary having over 28 years of experience in the fields of media and entertainment, sports, manufacturing services, and service industries. His previous engagements with Ronnie Screwvala include Walt Disney Company India in the capacity of Vice President – Finance and with UTV Software Communications Ltd., since 2006.
Chetan’s expertise is spread across finance, accounts, treasury, audits, business planning, and strategy, to improve processes and controls and general management.
Further, he is actively involved in private equity investments of the Company for the entire portfolio and has played a key role in monitoring and follow-on investments for most of the Company’s private equity investments and investee companies apart from several debt initiatives.

Sagar is a Post-Graduate working in Human Resources for more than 8 years now.
He has worked with managing HR for various domains such as Construction, Retail, Pharma & finance.
He has a deep love for analytics, he has also completed his six sigma green belt.
He is an avid reader, trekker, Meditator, and huge fan of the Indian cricket team.

Souptikk enjoys over 10 years of experience in the field of sports management including experience in digital marketing, sports marketing, team operations, logistics, syndication and distribution of content, and celebrity social management.

Graduated from IISM as a postgraduate diploma holder in sports management under the aegis of Griffith University. He has worked for some of the top franchises across various leagues in the country such as Kolkata Knight Riders (IPL), Jamshedpur FC (ISL), and Mumbai FC (I-League). He has also worked for renowned international sports content and digital agency, Engage Digital Partners (UK).  He has worked on offbeat sports with Sportz Interactive as the content management lead for P1 Powerboat Race in Mumbai, Gujarat Polo cup, and Baadshah Fantasy Gaming. 

Souptikk is also a trained vocalist and also enjoys being a foodie.

Nikhil is a qualified Civil engineer and an MBA in Operations and International Business. He has previously worked in multiple domains, first as a Subject matter Expert with Pearson India Education Services and most recently as a Product Analyst at E Bee Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd. where his work involved Product Demos, taking Business Requirements from the client, creating Agile user stories for the software and constructing the Feature Backlog for the software.

His other interests include a deep love for the Indian armed forces and automobiles alike while Fictional works of literature provide another avenue of stress-busting.

Rehan Mistry is an events specialist who has worked on many brands and events including PKL, Sunburn, Ultimate Table Tennis, and many more. With over 4 years of work experience, Rehan has previously worked as a freelancer in various events as a co-ordinator, operation, and production executive with organizations like ICE India event management, event companies, etc. He has also worked with USports for Pro Kabaddi League season 5 & 6 (Mumbai leg) and U Mumba Future star as a freelancer.

Rehan has played football professionally at the MDFA A&B division with Beacons FC and HTFC clubs. He has completed his education master’s in Commerce from Mumbai university. While Rehan is not busy at sports events, he likes to watch movies also is a professional break dancer and loves playing football, music editing, and more.

Sandeep is a veteran pro Rugby player by the first profession. He started his career at the Indian Armored Corps, where he spent 9 years and played professional Rugby. Post that, he was a Rugby coach for the RFS and then a football coach and player for the EFLI before joining U Sports.

Sandeep has over 15 years invested in sports and sports management. He’s even represented India in Rugby for over 8 years. Sandeep’s hobbies primarily lie in sports; Football, Rugby, and Kabaddi.
