Our import from Pune city actually has a season each with Telugu Titans and Bengal Warriors under his belt. This defender in his late 20s wasn’t this close to kabaddi action in the past decade. He used to practice ‘malkhamb’, a popular sport in Maharashtra, and only play kabaddi for leisure. It was only when a club in his hometown, Baner, took notice of his kabaddi skills, did he begin his professional journey.
Currently in his second year BA, Vikas comes from the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj, and is the youngest of three siblings. Kale’s father was a construction worker and Vikas even did some construction work in his younger days.
Vikas was close to giving up on playing Kabaddi professionally. After trying hard for four years to get into the state team, he finally got lucky in his fifth time lucky and joined the state team in 2015. Despite being the third team to play in in PKL, Vikas is excited about joining U Mumba and is feeling confident about Season Four.
