Nitin Madane
Nitin Madane
Playing Roll: Left Raider
Nationality: Indian
Born: 10 Sep 1988

This former Bengal Warriors player, hails from the district of Sangli, and is the oldest of 3 brothers. Despite being the most famous sport in his village, Nitin always wanted to be a badminton or cricket player instead but was forced into kabaddi by his uncle. With very little interest in the sport, he began playing it in college. When he didn’t get selected in the U-19 college team, he began questioning if there was something missing in himself and decided to concentrate and train harder. A strong believer in the phrase, ‘Hard work reaps success’, Nitin was ecstatic when he was selected in his college team, the following year. And from there, he became the only student to get selected in the Maharashtra team to play at the Nationals.

Since then, there’s been no turning back. Nitin played for Mahindra soon after college and was then employed with BPCL, where he’s worked for the last 8 years. He has been a part of the Senior Nationals 5 times and was also a part of the national team for 2014 Asian Games.

His favourite player is Pankaj Shirsat, an Arjuna Awardee and this season’s coach for the Gujrat side.
