Our most experienced player this season, who has been playing kabaddi for the last 27 years, is Joginder - also the youngest at heart. His biggest inspiration was his older brother by 8 years, Surender Singh, a ’94 Asian Gold Medalist and very well-known player of his time. One of the major reasons Joginder took to playing kabaddi was because he knew it would better his job opportunities. And it did! Soon after school, he joined the Haryana Police where he worked for 4 years before joining the Railways and then ONGC where he’s been employed for the last 8 years.

This father of two is a complete team player. He doesn’t care much about his individual performance but focuses more on doing his part to ensure that the team does well. One personal trait that he can’t seem to understand is his bad temper that only shows itself when it comes to kabaddi. But he isn’t too worried about it this season as he plays alongside ‘Captain Cool’ for the first time in the league.

Joginder loves to listen to Haryanvi Rangini and his favourite artist who also happens to be a close friend is Narendra Dangi. A very jovial person, he admits that he loves making people laugh and is often seeing fooling around with his team mates. “I am very happy to be a part of U Mumba. Team spirit is strong here and that’s the best way to go ahead,” he concludes.
