Captain of U Mumba, Vice-Captain of the Indian team, Arjuna Awardee and one of the biggest stars at Pro Kabaddi League, Anup Kumar was a key force in the team’s run to the finals in the first two seasons.
Calm, collected and in complete control of the game at all times, Kumar deploys some unique strategies and was awarded the title of Most Valuable Player 2014.
Originating from Palra village near Gurgaon, Kumar began his career in 2006 and has represented India at various international tournaments and most recently at the Asian Games, Incheon, where India bagged the gold.
Off the field, Anup Kumar is a decorated police officer with the Haryana Police. Desi ghee is a diet essential and he enjoys hiking in his free time. But currently, his entire focus is on winning the Pro Kabaddi Trophy this year.
